Maria joined Ad Astra in October 2023, bringing with her a career in auditing and financial advisory spanning over more than four years, including former employment with two Big Four Accounting Firms.

Currently, she provides support to local governments in the management and implementation of disaster recovery funds and federal funds, along with offering financial technical assistance. I n her role at Ad Astra, Maria leverages her expertise in risk assessment, financial analysis, and compliance to navigate complex regulatory frameworks and optimize financial processes. She excels in conducting data analysis with the creation of templates and dashboards, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing strategic solutions to enhance efficiency and accountability in fund management. More recently, she has provided assistance to DTOP, DRNA, PRDF, ASES, and PROMB by performing analysis, identifying discrepancies between current processes and desired outcomes, and providing recommendations, all while ensuring alignment and compliance with local and federal regulations. She took the lead in strategic oversight and project management collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to drive projects forward and achieve impactful outcomes. Outside of her professional endeavors, Maria enjoys running, playing pickleball and beach tennis, reading, and cooking. Her diverse interests reflect her passion for an active lifestyle and lifelong learning.
