Gerardo joined Ad Astra on March 2024. In 2012 he founded Olita, a community-based organization with projects in vulnerable communities in the northwest coast of Puerto Rico. In 2016 he led formation of the interdisciplinary group behind the designation of the Municipality of Aguadilla coastline designation as the 11th World Surfing Reserve by Saves the Waves Coalition, an effort which have birth to Protege Las Olas, the first and only puertorican NGO with the mission of protecting the islands best surfing peaks. In 2022 he joined a Grant Management Team to lead the design and implementation of a community relocation program funded by CDBG-MIT funds. Gerar do is a lawyer with an LLM in Law and Technology concentrated in Robotics and Artificial Intelligence, legal field for which he currently does research and offers conferences, courses, consulting services. He has passion for design, which he currently feeds through DIY furniture projects for his home.
